Daniel Isaac, D.O.

Daniel IsaacDr. Isaac has been a member of the MSHO board since 2019. Prior to that, Dan served as a fellow member on the board during his fellowship and found this experience to be invaluable.

He was born and raised in southeast Michigan. He obtained his undergraduate and master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University (MSU). Following this, he completed his medical school education at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Dan returned to Michigan and completed internal medicine residency at Oakland University William Beaumont Hospital, followed by hematology/oncology fellowship at Michigan State University.

Dan’s wife (Carolyn Isaac, PhD – forensic anthropology) joined the MSU forensic anthropology faculty at MSU, making it a natural fit for him to ultimately join the MSU Hematology/Oncology faculty after fellowship in 2019. At MSU, Dan has served in multiple roles including the Associate Program Director for the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program.

In his role at MSHO, Dan has worked with amazing faculty across Michigan to put together the MSHO CME presentations for our annual meeting, a process and experience that he finds truly enriching.

Dan and Carolyn currently reside in Okemos, MI, and have 3 wonderfully active children (Ava - 6, Ellie - 4, and Sam - 1) who keep life busy! They enjoy everything outdoors and love to spend time running, hiking, skiing, camping, and boating. Dan had been a dedicated runner and previously completed multiple marathons. With his oldest child now doing some “triathlons”, Dan and his wife are working hard to keep up with her!

Dan is incredibly grateful to serve on the board for MSHO and looks forward to all the great things that this organization has in store!
